Perfect pumpkin.

On Sunday we took Avery to underwood family farm to pick out a pumpkin. He had a blast walking through all the pumpkin patches, taking a tractor ride, feeding a little piglet, and riding a pony with a pink mane named marshmallow. One thing I know for sure, he loves being at the farm! It was the perfect way to start our favorite month!

Little moments.

I’ve been trying to be more “in the moment” lately which is why all things social media/blogging has been on the back burner. Avery is at such a fun age right now I just want to soak up all his  Avery-ness. I decided to start taking a couple photos a week of random, mundane, everyday moments to remember this time. He has the wildest imagination right now and I can’t say that I understand what he’s doing or why but I love watching him do it. Bath time is his new favorite play time, he gathers all his fish toys and has them battle the evil duck and somehow the shark is always the one to defeat Mr. Duck. And just when I think it can’t get any cuter he claps and cheers shark on saying “yay shark!” So cheers to more everyday mundane moments!

Back at it.

Pretty much as soon as we got back to Burbank I couldn’t wait to take Avery to all his favorite places. One of the first stops was travel town… He was so excited I thought we were going to be there until they closed. I loved watching him enjoy himself so much and it just proves we made a great decision to move back despite only have a couple of weeks to do it! Happy hump day!

Labor Day lemonade.

Well, it’s the end of summer and we didn’t check off nearly as many of our summer bucket list activities as I wanted to but, hey, that’s life. I’m not totally ready to say good-bye to summer so we are just gonna hold on to the lemonade and sun as long as we can. Happy Labor Day!!

Make everyday fun.

Yesterday was actually fairly nice despite what the weather predicted but as soon as we decided to head out the door a torrential downpour started, of course. I was kinda annoyed but tried to be positive and simply said lets change into our rain boots and then go. And what do you know, we walked out into the rain and splashed and had a pretty fun little “rain dance” before heading to dinner. A reminder to just make the best of it & try to have some fun while you’re at it!! Happy Friday!

Berry pickin’

My husband was out of town on a camping trip this past weekend so on Sunday I decided to take Avery on a little adventure. We headed out to a local farm to pick berries! I wasn’t sure how it was going to go- I figured it would either A. Be ok but Avery would loose interest quickly or B. He just wouldn’t be into it at all. I was totally wrong. He loved every minute of it, and he was actually a pretty skilled little berry picker. We stayed long enough to pick strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries which seems crazy considering I was alone with a toddler! We ate our weight in berries, climbed a big tree, smelled the beautiful hydrangea, got real dirty, treated ourself to freash grilled corn, and someone may have gotten a little yellow tractor to commemorate his first trip to a farm. It was a fun Sunday activity and I would definitely do it again!

Friday love.

We had a rough week of stuffy, runny noses and coughs. I don’t know what’s worse- having s sick toddler, or being sick yourself. Either way I think it’s safe to say we are all to ready for some weekend fun and for these sniffles go be fully gone! I’ll be solo with the squish while my husband has goes camping so I hope it’s just full of kisses and snuggles. And maybe a few adventures thrown in! Happy Friday!!

Summer 2016

I’m getting pretty excited for this summer. The squish is older now and understands pretty much everything so I can’t wait to have some summer fun with him this year. I’ve put together a pretty short summer bucket list this year but I think it’s the kind of list that you can do over and over again yet keep having fun.

1. Make s’mores- the classic kind but these are also on my list to mix it up!

2. Obviously we need hit the pool/beach/splash pad up as many times as possible.

3. Make homemade Popsicles!

4. Take a weekend trip somewhere- we want to go up to the Oregon aquarium so it might be fun to make it into a long weekend trip.

5. Have water ballon fights, I’m literally SO excited to surprise Avery with a big bucket of water balloons one day after his nap.

6. Park picnics that last hours… I love those days when we can just hang out and enjoy wonderful weather with nothing to do but explore.

7.  Leisurely family walks, in the neighborhood, on the beach, wherever we are.

8. Practice my sidewalk chalk art skills with the squish!

9. Eat all the watermelon.

10. Fly a kite!
